Cheza Music School is in the process of recruiting new members for the children's choir. Rehearsals will be taking place at the Kenya Cultural Center opposite Norfolk hotel, next to Nairobi University. Charges are 10,800 per term (3 months) To register, use https://chez.co.ke/ccr

Apart from learning new songs and performing in various events, the children will learn how to read music from the printed scores. Some of them will discover their talents and nurture them throughout their lives.

Advantages of singing in a choir or as a solo singer.

Before we explain how to join the choir, here is a list of the benefits that your child will get from being part of a chorus:
In a 2009 Research conducted by Chorus America Study, over 2000 parents and educators were interviewed, and here’s what the findings were -

1. Children who sing in choruses get significantly better grades

•     In Math, parents reported that 45% of singers got A’s and only 38% of non-singers got A’s.
•     In English, 54% of singers got A’s and only 43% of non-singers received A’s.

Rehearsals Time

Each child will come in and go through:

1. Warmup activities
2. Music theory
3. A session with a voice coach
4. One-one-one solo repertoire rehearsal
5. Group song learning

This is done in 2 two-hour sessions every month
 
Choir rehearsals will be taking place on Sunday afternoons, from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Instructors

We have qualified instructors with lots of experience in choral training and handling children. This involves qualified teachers who are graduates in

•     Early Childhood Development and Education
•     Primary Teachers Education
•     Music and Dance

Fees

The fee per term for each child is 10,800 Kenyan Shillings. A term is a period of 3 months which will have a total of 12 hours. The amount should be paid at the beginning of each term.
